It’s a film by Banksy, one of street arts most notorious and famous names – whose works can fetch close to a f dollars. But his true identity has gone unknown – save for some people trying to buy his identity on eBay for nearly the same price as his sculptures.
Except it’s not unknown. It’s completely known. And this photo at the top is purportedly the artist himself, and making the rounds over the internet. His name is Robin Gunningham. He looks like your favorite art professor, but he’s really an eccentric British multimillionaire made famous for graffiti.
Who would seriously bid on the identity of someone? It sounds like something Hugo Strange would try to pull off. So kudos to you, eBay bidder who offered a million dollars to find out who Banksy is. These are the spoils. The world’s greatest anonymous street artist, the man behind Hollywood’s latest obsession is that guy.
So when you see that guy, ask him if he’s Banksy.
