Is everyone’s favorite voice-over artist in over his head? It certainly seems like a probability.
Are we really so stupid in America? Are we so hard up for a rags to riches story that we’ll substitute naivety for knowledge and wisdom? Are we really under the impression that you can pluck someone from obscurity, who is living homeless due to drug and alcohol problems, and just insert them back into society as a freakin’ celebrity?
I love that Ted Williams has a phenomenal vocal talent, and I’m thrilled that some folks were willing to help get him off the streets; however, was there any foresight involved in the process? Were there any thoughts that perhaps an insta-celebrity based on a deep voice and stylistic inflection wasn’t necessarily salted with wisdom?
This video made me incredibly sad. Fella apparently has a load of family issues, so let’s add to that more and more cameras in his face daily, and people wanting his autograph around every corner–as he reminds us in the video, these are the same people who looked at him as less than a respected member of the human race just over a week ago.
Sorry to be such a downer on a Wednesday, but really, we need a social overhaul up in this mother.
