Playboy To Go Private

By Mark Lorenz on January 10th, 2011

Nobody likes to see a rabbit dying slowly. Which is why it could be merciful that Hugh Hefner has bought back the majority of his company and made it private once again.

Because beyond the fiscal implications, Playboy has always been about privates. Privates being aired out in public – but the magazine has been in a downward spiral since Hugh Hefner has decided to pay out thousands of dollars in a year to keep women around to have sex with him who find him abhorrent to be around if he weren’t rich and they started putting said women on the cover. With famous company like, oh, say, Marge Simpson. Which WOULD be hilarious, if nobody ever saw Marge Simpson naked before – but thousands of otaku and animation fans before have drawn her heaving bosom all over thousands of websites.

Hefner has inked an agreement with Icon Acquisition Holdings to get the 28% of the stock back that he didn’t already own. After Penthouse offered to buy the company for 210 million dollars. Can you imagine the psychotic world we’d live in if Penthouse bought Playboy?

Up would be down, black would be white, but everything is now peachy keen. Until Hefner keels over from sexual excitement.
