In all fairness, I must first state that John Edwards is denying these reports. Well…a family “representative” is denying these reports. The rep says that John says he has no intention of marrying Rielle Hunter…but how’s that to state that a report of an engagement is false? C’mon, big John, we know that proposals and engagements don’t necessarily equate to the fruition of a marriage!
However, if it is truth, they are engaged to be married and John is once again trying to cover his backside in that adorably juvenile manner that politicians often do, I must say, I commend you, John Edwards…
Nothing says class like waiting three weeks after your ex-wife dies of cancer to propose to the “other woman” you fell in love with/boinked to potentially send her on the downward spiral.
Thank you, John, for proving so many of the political pundits correct about your character–about your slick, false demeanor and character flaws. Flaws that you scoffed at while running for President, and even for VP with John Kerry. John Kerry!? Was that really all the DNC could muster in ‘04 to compete with George W. Bush? I digress.
I’m sure your family is thrilled that you’re taking the headlines back, a day after it was reported that you were left out of Elizabeth’s will.
Then again, if you’re telling the truth and The National Enquirer is somehow sensationalizing this story–which I just can’t imagine–then I suppose you’re the victim, and we should all pity that you’re having to deal with this. I just don’t know how to feel here. Perhaps we, the public, are the real victims!?
Now I’m increasingly confused. No, not in which side to choose in this story possessing such vast importance, rather why anyone would care what a “career” politician does in the first place. Clearly we’re now aware that 90-plus percent of these law makers are only interested in their personal agenda, cash-flow and how to make things better for their sphere of influence.
And…I’m continuously baffled as to how “public servant” political positions ever became a lucrative CAREER profession!? Somehow, I’ve surrendered to never understanding that one.
