Stan Lee Gets Star On Walk Of Fame

By Mark Lorenz on January 5th, 2011

Finally, someone who deserves it is getting a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood – comic book legend Stan Lee.

If there’s anyone who has contributed more to the contemporary landscape of story, and if there’s anyone who has created more jobs and launched more careers in the world of graphic novels or Hollywood – I don’t know them. Stan Lee is responsible for most of the constructs and archetypal superheroes we enjoy today.

And millions of people the world over have enjoyed his creations – which include Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Avengers, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Daredevil, and Doctor Strange amongst others. Lee’s new star is in front of the Live Nation building on Hollywood Boulevard. His comic books have sold upwards in the millions of copies and have been publish in 75 nations and in 25 different languages. He’s served as executive producer on the LEGIONS of comic book movies that have come out in the past decade.

In addition, by all firsthand accounts, the man is one of the nicest working in Hollywood. Because he never intended to be working in Hollywood. Whatever crazy cosmic coincidence brought him to this level of success, or if it was some kind of superpower, we salute you.

Excelsior.
