Times are tough and with more and more adults losing their jobs (and subsequently their homes, cars and savings) it’s becoming more and more popular for parents to turn to their kids for support.
Most kids spend countless hours sitting in front of the television hoping and wishing that one day they themselves would be lucky enough to be in front the camera. The good news is, even during these tough economic times, kids TV shows are increasing in popularity and thus there is a huge demand for young actors and actresses.
So many popular men and women have become successful as child actors or performers. Today’s biggest stars like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera all got their starts on Disney’s Mickey Mouse club. The next generation of movie and music stars (like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens) started in the same place: Disney TV shows (like High School Musical and Hannah Montana).
So how can you help your child achieve their dreams (and maybe yours) of being rich and famous? There are many Disney Channel acting auditions in many cities and states throughout North America. Most Disney Channel acting auditions in the US take place in Los Angeles but you can audition for many through email. Some auditions only require you to send your headshots and resume to them and, if you’re chosen as a finalist, you will have to make an appearance in one of the cities for the in-person audition.

I have loved acting my whole life, I love it, now that I have finally turned 13 I think I can finally start my acting career for real. Hi, my name is Jessica, and I am from New York City. I am 16 years old, and I always wanted to be an actress. I know it's many others dream as well, and it is a very competitive career. I have been looking to be an actress but everywhere I turn to, always involves money out of pocket. I just want an actual audition to be in a movie, show or even a commercial. Heck I wouldn't mind, if I just became an extra. My mom paid for me to get a portfolio done by "Midtown Model Talent" and after my mom paid and we did not see the pics, I read online that it was a scam. The guy did say to come back a week later with 2 different outfits. Originally the ad was in a newspaper and said to audition to become an extra in a movie, no exp needed. But wound up paying over 300 for pics we never seen. Then I went to audition for B.I.H Studios, which I researched and it was not a scam. It's an acting school but I was under the impression that I was auditioning for a role in a movie, or a commercial or something. But my mom is paying money for me to go to professional acting classes. Classes don't start until February 5, 2011. I am still a beginner, I have done school plays, and I will be taking classes, I feel I am ready to go out there and make it big. I am passionate about acting, and I have a lot of potential in the acting industry, I believe. I just want to audition - with no strings attached that will actually determine if I can be in a movie, commercial, show, etc. or not. I hope I get a response. Thanks. ~Jessica

I've been into this stuff since before I could talk. I like acting with great expression because it's fun to pretend to be someone else and get into the character. I have a heavenly voice, I've sang for a lot of people and have gotten so many excellent compliments (and I still am)! I'm nice to people, I'm smart, I have an excellent range of talent and ability, I'm pretty (not bragging, that's just what I'm told), I'm mature but fun, etc. I hope for my dream!

I also forgot to add that I am extremely talented with instruments and learn them faster than anyone could, I learned the drums in a day, The clarinet in a month, the Piano is a halfy but i learned how to make some good music within the 6 times I played it, I am currently on the guitar, and i'm not trying to brag or anything but I just know from me being almost 13 and my best friend is almost 14, and we been watching Disney for a VERY long time that we are exactly like those who has already been on the channelle, And all young children loves us, They come to us acting like they known us their entire life, and thats another reason why I want to be on Disney, to show children the important lessons in life, and be a role model, because I even heard from many people if only all kids acted like me and my best friend the world would have no problems. Hi, my name is susan. I'm 13 years old. I've been singing, acting, and dancing since I was a baby, and I really want to do something with my talent.I've worked with several teachers, and a member from the beach boys. They all said the same. They said I should expand and embrace my talent.I'm not sure I really want to be on Disney Channel, but I am definitely sure I can be the best you've ever seen. im 13 and have a great voice not to brag but it runs in my family but i have taken lesson and have learnd to control my pitch and lengh if you dont know anything about that than well youu might have a hard time getin into disney channel.
