Time magazine has unveiled their person of the year. And it’s Mark Zuckerberg.
Though Time has been notorious in the past of their screening selection for person of the year, opting instead to print a mirror and saying that YOU’RE the person of the year – and in the past selecting people the caliber of Bono, they opted for Zuckerberg, the apocryphal founder of Facebook, the first millennial CEO, and subject of a soon-to-be award winning film. He has been changing the world – now people have one more way to waste their time online, in a social networking that isn’t conducive to modeling, passing viruses and new music.
In addition, he’s dedicated a large portion of his ridiculous wealth to improving school systems and philanthropy. Which is more than I’d do – most likely, I’d just put everything on black and pray for more wealth.
But Zuckerberg is smarter than you and I – and managed to design a website that has somehow wheedled into our collective consciousness and for that, Time salutes you.
And we all salute you. You borderline autistic genius. Creating things that none of us could create.
Also, why wasn’t he the man of the year, like two years ago?
Runner up was the Tea Party. Which’ll be the way most elections swing. BAZING.
