Kanye Releases Christmas Single

By Mark Lorenz on December 15th, 2010

Kanye West just can’t keep out of the spotlight. With an album that hit #1 on the Billboard charts, countless appearances on talk shows, and video montages celebrating his craziness – you can’t avoid the man.

And now he’s released a Christmas song. This year, releasing new Christmas songs have been all the rage with groups that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to release Christmas songs – Coldplay and now Kanye. I can’t think of any more examples, but that’s all that we need.

Kanye West has done everything he possibly can, stoked on by ego and feelings of insecurity, but the last ploy is the most devious. He’s trying to ruin Christmas with ‘Christmas In Harlem’.

Kanye West has released one of the worst Christmas songs in history. Literally. You could stack this against ‘Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer’ and Ringo Starr’s ‘Christmas Time Is Here Again’, and it’d fit comfortably. It’s not enough for the man to release a series of songs that don’t know when to end, he’d also like to put his cut next to the classic Christmas in Hollis.

But it doesn’t. It’s boring. It’s placid. It makes me want to punch a reindeer and burn a tree. That’s not what Christmas is about.

Enjoy!
