New York Jets assistant coach Sal Alosi admitted to intentionally tripping Miami Dolphins rookie defensive back, Nolan Carroll, during the Jets – Dolphins game Sunday. Nolan was running down the Jets sidelines while covering a punt when the incident occurred.
Watch Sal Alosi trip Nolan Carroll in the video below:
“I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment,” Alosi said in a statement [via ABC News]. “My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for.”
Nolan, who was not seriously injured in the play said after the game that he was just happy that his team was able to secure a victory.
“We got a W. That’s not my problem. That’s the Jets’ problem. We just move on. I felt contact, but I’ve got to watch film. I can’t comment on it right now [via MWZA].”
He also told ESPN [via ABC News] that the last thing he remembered was splitting the double-team.
The Dolphins beat the Jets 10-6.
