Murder Inc. was a labeled founded by Irv Gotti’s drug money ties to Kenneth McGriff. Subsequently, the label has had problems. As in, if it falls behind paying their distributors – they may kill them.
LOLZOMGZ drug jokes. But seriously, the label has experienced problems since the early oughties, where it’d frequently turn out hits pairing Ja Rule’s gruff voice and Ashanti’s willowy melismas. But since then, basically nothing. It became a punch line to 50 Cent and his crew, and since then other hip hop groups have emerged while Muder Inc. just became The Inc., and fell into obscurity.
But the money they made remained – as did Ja Rule’s sense of paranoia. He was arrested on gun charges three years ago in New York, for possessing a loaded weapon in his Lamborghini. Here’s a hint – if the car is so expensive that you think you need a loaded weapon to defend yourself – drive a Buick. Nobody’s going to attack you in a Buick.
Ja Rule will be joining fellow rapper TI in prison – unfortunately for the less-relevant rapper, he’ll be serving a two-year sentence instead of TI’s one.
Buttttt still. Charges from 2007 coming back to haunt you make for a terrible week.
