Technically, rape, molestation and “unlawful coercion”…in Sweden? Yep. In Sweden.
Claims from two “victims” are that Assange had unprotected sex with them, and wouldn’t get tested for STDs–and therein lies the problem. Assange confidently denies such allegations, claiming that all acts were consensual and that this is just a political stunt to discredit his recent rise to fame and the validity of his claims.
The WikiLeaks founder turned himself in to British authorities once the charges were leveled, and he has been denied bail by a London judge.
The judge denied bail based on a belief that Assange would fail to appear at later mandated court dates. This means that the secret-spiller will more than likely remain in government holding until December 14.
Hmmm…how convenient. Think there’s much of a chance a few “diplomatic representatives” from various countries might swing by the jail for a little visit?
I think that it’s great that even within our own gov. in the U.S., we have Federal Representatives and Senators who love and hate this guy. For those hoping certain things would remain “secret,” then perhaps written records of meetings, etc. should be set aside for the sake of privacy.
What many world governments hate about Julian Assange, and guys like former Governor Jesse Ventura, are the same things we love about them. They’re simply letting us all know that some government officials and organizations are completely full of crap, and they have the information to back it up.
What the U.S. government need not worry about, is the fact that the majority of the people in this country don’t care. They would never take the time to read something on WikiLeaks, and even if they did, all Uncle Sam would need to offer for stark contrast is the statement, “That’s not true.” Then all eyes swirl with the red, white and blue once again.
I just love that the arrest of Assange offers the assurance that when governments want their hands on somebody, they’ll find a way to get their hands on somebody.

What IS the definition of a terrorist? It seems any one who compromises the ability of the US in ANY way - even if the US has compromised the position of others - even if the administration has sanctioned acts of murder against civilians it is alright as long as the US did it? Have a SPINE man and USE your position to encourage defence of liberty - real liberty - not the sort offered at the point of a gun or intimidation! You might not like what is right - but I think you know TYRANNY isn't - so DON'T SUPPORT TYRANNY - use your position and get help and support for this man!
