The master-planned community, developed and built by the Disney Corporation did a wonderful job in creating a safe, quaint and pleasant town to live in. Unfortunately, when you’re located anywhere in the United States of America, you can’t keep the murderers out of your town.
Celebration, Florida, located a stone’s throw from Orlando and the Disney complex, was rocked by the scandal this week when a 58 year old man was found dead in his residence. No friends heard from him post-holiday weekend, including the friend who was in charge of watching his pet. When a friend stopped by to check on the gentleman Monday, she found him dead and then contacted authorities. Due to evidence found at the scene, detectives have categorized the death as a homicide, the first in the town’s 14 year history.
The man’s vehicle, a 2008, black Chevrolet Corvette, was apparently stolen, and police called upon the public to help locate the car. The car was found in nearby Kissimmee on Tuesday. Police have remained tight-lipped in their investigation. That’s probably a good thing, considering the more the public knows, the more screwed up an investigation inevitably gets.
So, is the community still safe? Considering that this is the first major crime that Celebration has ever endured, it seems the law of averages are with the quiet, little town.
