Jennifer Grey is the new Dancing with the Stars champion and – more importantly – Bristol Palin is not!
It was a tight battle between Dancing with the Stars Season 11 contestants Bristol Palin, Kyle Massey and Jennifer Grey. In the end, they were all winners but there could only be one couple taking home the mirrorball trophy. That couple was Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough.
As with every season, there are going to be viewers who are thrilled with the outcome and those who are disappointed with who was crowned winner. As someone who watched the entire season, I can honestly say that as long as Bristol Palin didn’t walk away with the title, I can sleep soundly tonight.
We can all argue who was the most deserving to take home the trophy tonight but it shouldn’t take away from the fact that each contestant tried their best and worked their ass off the past few months.
So if you’re asking yourself, “did Jennifer Grey deserve to win tonight” the answer is yes, she did. She may have had previous dance experience but that was over 20 years ago. She is 50 years old, dancing with an injury and trying to keep a smile on her face (which is more than we can say for some of the other contestants) and she deserves to bask in the glory of her win.
So congratulations Jennifer! You made my day by taking the trophy away from Bristol Palin and, in the process, I’m sure you made your original dance partner (Patrick Swayze), very proud.

Jennifer Grey was a contender that would not back down. Her preciseness, grace and dedication made me become glued to "Dancing with the Stars" every week, right from the beginning of the show. I have to admit that I am a dirty dancing fanatic, and I did not know what to expect from Jennifer at the start of the series. She definitely proved to all of the dirty dancing fans out there that she can has patience and determination and true dancing ability to win the Mirror Ball Trophy. Nobody will ever put baby in the corner again!!!
