JFK Assassination Made into Film Starring Leonardo DiCaprio

By Heather B on November 22nd, 2010

Leonardo DiCaprioLeonardo DiCaprio is said to be producing a film about the assassination of John F Kennedy.  The actor’s production company, Appian Way, has won the rights to Lamar Waldron and Thom Harmann’s book, ‘Legacy of Secrecy: The Long Shadow of the JFK Assassination,’ which the film will be based on.

It is thought that Leonardo will also have a co-starring role in the film.

Lamar and Thom’s novel focuses on the idea that Carlos Marcello, a mafia boss, ordered the hit on JFK and later confessed the crime to his confidant, Jack Van Laningham.  However, unknown to Carlos, Jack was a deep cover informant for the FBI.

Digging through numerous declassified files for their book, the authors discovered that many of Carlos’ family members and associate were arrested soon after Kennedy’s assassination.

JKF was assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22.  His death has continued to attract attention from historians, politicians, popular culture and conspiracy theorists alike.

Warner Brothers is hoping to release the film about John F. Kennedy’s death in 2013, to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination.
