Xbox Kinect = Injury in a Box (Watch)

By James Sheldon on November 9th, 2010

Playstation 3, Xbox and Wii. The big 3.

Sony and Microsoft needed to own the industry. They needed to offer something to parents to justify their purchase over the Wii–something exercisey. You know? Signing up for youth sports being so taxing on the time budget and all.

PS3 is rockin’ motion controllers similar to that of the Wii, and Billy Gates and the Microsoft crew? Well, they one-upped everyone and went with Kinect. Surely you’re familiar–but have you enjoyed some of the videoed injuries that have taken place as a result of pulling the system out of the box?

For starters, what is Kinect? It’s a motion detection, interactive gaming accessory for the Xbox. Basically, games that are similar in nature to what you’d do with a Wii, with slightly better graphic content and no annoying controller to hang on to.

While quite familiar with Xbox, I’m not familiar with Kinect. I have to assume that there is a disclaimer and/or warning that comes with the system, stating that ample space is necessary to participate in Kinect sports…But then, where would the entertainment be in that? Nothing is more enjoyable than watching someone get their hand tagged by the ceiling fan while playing “Volleyball.”

Then, of course, there are the adults taking out the kids, which serves as times of delight on YouTube. Seriously. Don’t believe me? Check it out. And be sure Santa is bringing you Xbox Kinect so you can join in the carnage.
