After a long absence where he was missed by everyone who has a nose, an ear, and a passion for late night, Conan O’ Brien has come back. With a vengeance. And a plan to murder every other late night host dead.
Conan on TBS drew 4.2 million viewers. 4.2 million viewers. That’s higher than the average that Letterman OR Leno get any given night – with Letterman drawing 3.4 million viewers, Leno getting 3.5 million viewers, and he trounced Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert by 3 and 3.2 million viewers. Conan O’ Brien is a killing, stomping machine. He’s a red-headed demigod who has defied everyone’s expectations of what a late-night talk show host is capable of. People have said that Conan wouldn’t be able to compete in the big leagues, after NBC shoved him aside like used pieces of garbage. That had been used by other pieces of garbage.
But will the goodwill for Conan continue or wane as time goes by? Will the youth demographic stick with him and his familiar characters like Masturbating Bear or FedEx Pope, or will they abandon him to die in the dregs near Lopez?
We love Conan. Keep watching. So he’ll be able to keep us laughing.

As usual, people drew way too many conclusions from a single night. Conan's numbers dropped 60% by Thursday, and so far this week TBS hasn't even released any numbers, which can't be a great sign.

COCO is King! Well that's how we feel. Unfortunately his ratings has been falling. That was inevitable with being in TBS. Nevertheless, he will always be my fav late night host.
