I love when there’s a recall, because I get to say it over and over again…I’m the Manolith recall guy. My first ever post for the lith of Man was in regards to a Toyota recall. Ah, the mem’ries–they light corners of my mind.
The automotive giant is now recalling 1.53 million automobiles, over 740,000 in the United States for potential leaks in the brake master cylinder. If you know what a brake master cylinder is, you can probably have a look at yours before taking your ride into dealership to get it repaired.
Oh. Right. Which cars are being recalled? The 2003-2006 Toyota Avalon and Highlander, as well as the expensive Toyota’s known as the Lexus GS300, Lexus IS250 and Lexus IS350.
It has been a tough year for the world’s top automaker–I feel their pain. It’s been a tough year for a lot of us. Their stock has been on a roller coaster, and dipped again due to this recent news, but closed slightly higher on the Chinese market after the news swirled. That’s probably because I just made a payment to the Toyota Financial entity belonging to the automaker–oh yeah, they’re diversified in scope.
I suppose that it’s good that Toyota is one step ahead of the consumer, unlike a few of the early recalls that came after complaints from drivers. Remember the so-called, “Runaway Prius?” If you have one of the aforementioned rides, go ahead and get it into the dealership so they can give it the once-over.
