South Park Does Inception

South Park has been on fire lately, tackling everything from Jersey Shore to Inception. Which is what they did last night.

Inception is one of the biggest success stories in recent cinema – with box office receipts close to the billions, widespread critical acclaim, and a soundtrack that has somehow become an internet meme. But that’s not good enough for Matt Stone and Trey Parker, who attack the assertion that Inception was a stroke of genius.

If you haven’t seen last week’s episode that recruits Al Qaeda to hunt the guidos of New Jersey down, you haven’t lived. South Park has been on for over a decade and in that time, it’s evolved from a show featuring gross-out gags and skits simply for the purpose of visceral reactions to pointed social commentary featuring Inception and sheep. It’s amazing how the world evolves. In addition, an American was arrested and sentenced for threatening to kill Stone and Parker after they made fun of the Islamic prophet Muhammed. So they’ve had a busy week as social satirists, dodging bullets and making progress forward in making fun of intellectual celluloid.

Enjoy the clip. It pretty much summarizes all the thoughts I had watching Inception.
