Glee Stars Nearly Nude, Parent’s Council Loses Mind

By Mark Lorenz on October 20th, 2010

Glee is one of the most uncontroversial shows of all time. Literally, all they do is sing, dance, have a great time and present characters with generally no nuance whatsoever. There’s no way you can interpret it as risqué.

BUT THIS IS MURRIKA. And when the Glee people are doing magazine spreads to help promote their show, if it’s remotely sexual, there’ll be outrage. Which is what’s happened with GQ. I don’t understand Puritanism. I think everyone should be topless at all times – it’d be a great equalizer. Titties and hairy chests bouncing everywhere would make it practically impossible to have serious conversations – of which there are usually too many going concurrently in the world about things that have no relevance. Like Glee’s spread on GQ – the topic? Pedophilia. Of which GQ is accused of encouraging by photographing the Glee actresses in their underwear.

I think if anything in contemporary society encourages pedophilia, it’s those damn specials with Chris Hansen. They’re only catching the really stupid pedophiles. Sometimes repeatedly. The Parent’s Television Counsil are the ones complaining about the magazine, which begs the question – aren’t they just supposed to complain about TV? When did they diversify?

Just look at the sexiness. And enjoy it harder, because someone’s trying to make it harder for you to enjoy.
