The Incredible Hulk has muscled his way back to TV. ABC is reportedly working to develop a live-action television revival of the popular comic book series.
Unlike other superheroes, the Hulk has no control over his power, transforming into the powerful green giant involuntarily whenever he gets angry – the result of physicist Bruce Banner’s exposure to radiation in a gamma bomb explosion.
The character has spawned big Hollywood blockbusters, half a dozen TV movies, and even an animation series. But perhaps most notably, Lou Ferrigno portrayed the Hulk while the series ran on CBS from 1978 – 1982.
Though the new Hulk television show is still in the early stages of production (a search is currently underway for a writer) if all goes to plan the Incredible Hulk TV show should hit the small screen mid-summer of next year.
But the Hulk won’t be the only superhero with a primetime series – Warner Brothers TV and DC Comics are working on a Wonder Woman series, which is being developed by David E. Kelley.
