Katy Perry Gets the Boot From Sesame Street (Watch)

I caught this yesterday… Didn’t think much of it. Thought kids would love it. I certainly know my niece would–bright colors, Elmo dancing and singing to bubble gum pop? Personally, I’m more of an Elmo fan than a Katy Perry fan, but I have no problem with the pop-princess. Unfortunately, several Sesame Street parents wanted no California girl in their Grover, Elmo, Oscar mix.

Basically, Katy modified her tune “Hot ‘n Cold” for Elmo, who didn’t want to play “dress up” with “Miss Katy.” Perhaps Elmo is frightened of Katy’s breasts…which are on full display, as always, in a green, corset-bodice dress (don’t ask me why I know that…).

Honestly, the Elmo pairing with Perry is pretty catchy, and you can’t really blame “Miss Katy” for the costume choice. There has gotta be some discretion offered by Sesame Street production team, yeah? I hate to say it, especially because Children’s Television Workshop gets so many things right, but they’re making a mistake pulling Katy from the episode that was to air later this season.

Every girl deserves a party with Elmo!
