Austin, TX is home to the biggest alternative party-scene, one of America’s most storied colleges, and now studies that seem like they’re more common sense than should be funded by taxpayer dollars. Or collegiate money.
Such as — men like dating attractive women. That’s pretty much practical, common knowledge, right? Am I in some sort of weird, alternate universe where men don’t all crowd around attractive women at bars like caveman in prehistoric France, trying to high-five them and spin them? It’s obvious. That’s the only reason why men invented beauty pageants and on-camera reporting jobs for women – because they’re nice to look at, and it’d give somebody way high up a shot at dating them.
It’s science. So sayeth the University of Texas in Austin. Where researchers asked 375 men and women who they’d like to date for short or long term based off of a series of photos – the only qualifier being that they could either see the person’s face or body. When asked about having a short-term relationship, men were more likely to look at the body – but a long-term relationship resulted in them looking at women’s faces.
So if you don’t have a hot body, you can kiss having a relationship goodbye. </sarcasm>. The results shocked women across the nation who were living under rocks.
