Michael Richards is an example of what you shouldn’t do as a celebrity. Such as, you shouldn’t star on the biggest television show of all time, then turn around and be a racist punching machine.
Whenever people do comedy in LA at the Laugh Factory, that’s what the stage is known for primarily. Not for booking the lamest comedians since the 1980’s happened, or where the record for the longest stand-up sets have been set, but the place where Michael Richards went from a national hero to less than mud in two minutes. And that’s what he’s becoming, a walking embodiment of your crazy uncle – if your crazy uncle was known for being one of the most adept physical comedians to walk the face of the planet and have meltdowns in comedy clubs.
Michael Richards is being sued by a photographer who claims that the actor followed him into an alley and beat him within an inch of his life. Michael Richards apparently has heard the maxim that all good publicity and has applied that to assaulting people. Really, more stars should do that. I want to see Daniel Radcliffe pounding somebody’s face in an alley so more people will see his brilliant portrayal of a diminutive Rudyard Kipling.
The photographer is suing for distress and equipment damages.
