Bill Clinton to Visit “The Daily Show” on Thursday

By James Sheldon on September 13th, 2010

Slick Willy.

Man. You gotta love this guy. Seriously, slide his Lewinski indiscretion under the rug, and even a bunch of Repulicans would probably long for the “Clinton Years.” Heck, in California, Republican Gubernatorial candidate, Meg Whitman, is using a Bill Clinton campaign interview from 1992 to smear her Democrat opponent Jerry Brown.

When the guy speaks it, he speaks it. I have no idea what that means…but people love the guy–you pickin’ up what I’m layin’ down?

On Thursday night he’s going to speak it on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” where he’ll more than likely be plugging The Clinton Global Initiative, which begins next week in New York City–an annual event where world leaders are invited to discuss pressing global issues.

This chitty-chat with Jon Stewart will be Clinton’s 6th appearance on the show, and they’re always entertaining.

I just love how William Jefferson has the knack of respecting the current administration, but somehow being able to state what he thinks needs to happen within all issues domestic and foreign, after directly avoiding the question when it’s asked. For example, Stewart will ask him about something that’s a little time-sensitive or controversial, and Clinton will speak about something vaguely related to it, then at some point he’ll work in the goods.

Say what you will about the good ole boy from Arkansas, but he’s as sharp as a tack–maybe as dangerous as stepping on one, too, but those are just stories I used to hear growing up in his neck of the woods. And I’ll tell ya, there were some stories! Though I know few people might admit it, I’m willing to bet that there are several people who wish they would have voted Hillary in the ‘08 primaries.
