Pastor Terry Jones 9/11 Weenie Roast

Get your marshmallows and hot dogs ready, nut-bag Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, FL, is puttin’ on an old-timey book burnin’ this Saturday night from 6-9pm. Oh yeah. This is to honor the 9th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks…according to Terry Jones.

People are up in arms that this fella, and possibly the 50 or so members of this church are going to set some Quran, or Koran (alt. spelling), on fire to stick it to terrorism…according to Terry Jones. Because nothing screams Jesus and American freedom like burning a bunch of holy books and potentially putting a lot of people in danger thousands of miles away.

Everyone from General David Petraeus to Hillary Clinton have rebuked (there’s a good, old fashioned, Terry Jones type of word) Jones for his decision to stage this event, and even Jones has stated that he has received over 100 death threats, prompting him to carry a .40 caliber pistol with him every where he goes nowadays. If God is for him, then who can be against him…and his 40 cal.

I’ll be frank in stating this. If Jones goes ahead with his plan for Saturday, he’ll probably die for it, and so will a lot of other people. His church will cease to exist, as it will be burned to the ground. I completely disagree with his decision to hold such a rally, and if he wants to enjoy his faux-freedom of speech and religion in such a manner, he may pay the ultimate price  for doing so.

The whole story only gets better when you take into account the rhetoric of Muslims in the Middle East, including high profile political figures who have openly stated that if this happens, Americans will die, just because they’re Americans in order to protect the Koran. How’s that make you feel as an American? I’ll be honest, it doesn’t sit too well with me.
