Young Women Are Outearning Men

By Mark Lorenz on September 2nd, 2010

If there’s one thing that every man in the world can appreciate, it’s upwardly mobile, young single women. They’re blazing trails, knocking down doors, and are doing it in very stylish clothing.

And now, chances are they’re making more money than their male counterparts. That’s right, the next time you see a group of young male professionals throwing down money in a stripclub, blowing their hard-earned cash on flashy cars, condominiums that they don’t really need – chances are their female compatriots are earning just as much cash, maybe even more – and saving it accordingly.

In 2008, single, childless women between the ages of 22 and 30 were earning more than their male counterparts in most US cities, with incomes that were 8% greater on average. That’s a very noticeable difference – and was first bursting in major cities. The most noticeable difference? In Atlanta, where young childless women were paid 121% the level of their male counterparts.

Men were also hit in the area of blue-collar jobs, most of which have vacated the US for greener and more foreign pastures.

But I’m impressed. With all of you earning, single, childless ladies. I’d buy you all a drink, but chances are you own bars already.
