Rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested Wednesday night, and booked for possession of a controlled substance.
The newlyweds were in their Maybach on Sunset Blvd. when they were pulled over by police at around 10:30 PM during a traffic stop. Police said that they smelled marijuana and after searching the vehicle, both T.I. and Tameka were arrested.
“Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” the Los Angeles sheriff’s department said. “A narcotics investigation ensued that resulted in the arrests.”
T.I. is currently on probation for a 2008 arrest which resulted in jail time for the rapper, who was booked on charges of unlawfully possessing firearms as a convicted felon. He was released in March with an 11:00 PM curfew, after serving seven months in jail and three in a halfway house.
After posting $10,000 bail, T.I. and Tameka were released around 4:00 AM.
The couple only recently got married – tying the knot in Miami, Florida on July 30, 2010.
