Back the fun bus up the block. Justin Bieber has recorded a song with Raekwon and Kanye? Oh, Jesus Christ.
If you don’t know who Raekwon is and you’re listening to rap music or claiming that you’re a rap music fan, you need to go to your woodshed, sit down, and hammer out your issues. Because you’re missing out on a huge chunk of the greatest music ever created. Raekwon was one of the preeminent members of the Wu-Tang clan, excelling on their group releases, and able to maintain a consistently successful solo career. He’s maintained a huge presence on the hip hop world, influencing a myriad of artists – one of whom is Kanye West.
Who did him the disservice of arranging for him to share a song with Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber is an example of how far culture has gone down the tube – it’s not like we didn’t have Ricky Nelsons or Frankie Avalons in the past – but they certainly weren’t some of the more successful entertainers of their day.
But now they are. Because teens and preteens are the only audience who will continuously buy what is put in front of them. So now we have a song where Raekwon raps and Justin Bieber sings the hook, AND YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO TAKE DRUGS FOR IT TO BE REAL.
Amazing. And awful. Simultaneously.
