Troy Polamalu’s Hair Is Insured

By Mark Lorenz on August 31st, 2010

If there’s one thing that I don’t normally know NFL players for, it’s their hair.

Their copious amounts of offspring, yes. Their insane training schedules, yes. Their million dollar salaries, and inability to score well scholastically, yes. But never before for their hair. But Troy Polamalu is changing all of that.

Polamalu is primarily known for being a beast on the field, recording a record number of sacks for a safety, and a record salary from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a player to stay put on their team. What else is he known for? His incredible, incredible hair. He’s been pulled down by his hair more plays than I have been turned away by attractive ladies – and the last time he cut it was in 2000. Supposedly, it has a thickness and length that would stretch it over 100 football fields if it was laid end-over-end, a claim that I have no desire to substantiate with experiments.

But Head and Shoulders feels like Polamalu is worth his weight in millions of dollars in follicles and products – and have taken out a 1 million dollar insurance policy with Lloyd’s of London.

If I could insure any part of my body for millions of dollars, it would be my gold-creating nipples. Or something similar.
