Really? REALLY? A singing contest utilizes autotone?
Color me completely surprised. There’s a singing contest that utilizes auto-tune? Isn’t the entire point of a singing contest to find someone with a voice that doesn’t have to be autotuned to hell to produce hit songs? But this is a brave new world, where all of our pop stars have to be wrapped in a duvet of of production and sound to make them sound like they’re not emotional robots.
The X-Factor is one of the biggest shows on Britain, paving the way for American Idol in America, the X-Factor everywhere else and the X-Factor that is coming to America and featuring Simon Cowell. Unfortunately, in post-production, they like to throw auto-tune on their contestants to make them sound better. Isn’t it enough that they’re going to get famous from a show that will never make them famous internationally, just locally for a matter of months, but you have to edit their performance to make it sound good? Depressing. Pretty soon they’re gonna have other people write songs for them, and words so their precious hands don’t have to touch pens.
I guess in a way, it’s completed a tiny cycle that prepares pop stars for the real world, which includes the plummet into obscurity and songs that include two percent of your voice.
