If there’s something more postmodern and technological than ChatRoulette, I have no idea what it would be.
Think about it. It combines the now-traditional computer add-on of webcams with the anonymity the internet is known for with the sexual elements of a porn site. All in one site. That is occasionally browsed by celebrities. And people in masks, and so penises. People doing Lady Gaga impressions. Basically, a bit of everything mingled together.
But movie studios, with their way of being ahead of the times, have discovered ways of using ChatRoulette for their own purposes – namely, scaring the pants off of everyone who is expecting to see boobs. Personally, I think everyone who is expecting to see breasts or vagina on a webcam, should be terrified, just so they’ll get out of the house and instead see normal breasts and vagina, instead the ones of people who want easy money.
The Last Exorcism is another movie in the chain of possession films where a girl gets possessed by the devil. It’s always a girl, huh? The devil is never some kinda boy-loving fiend, he always has to enter in the body of a girl. Oh, religious sexual taboos. Their marketing team found a fun way to tease people on the internet.
