And the literati, they dropped their monocles simultaneously.
Already, it’s happening. The shockwaves from The Hills ending this year are already being felt worldwide – and they’re not happy shockwaves.
The Hills is one of the most prominent television shows to emerge during the oughties – garnering millions of viewers while holding a relatively simple premise – a group of young people having the same conversation for six years straight. Seriously – they don’t veer away from their safety nets of boys, jobs, and partying. Which is probably why it was so successful – being voted one of the greatest television shows of the last decade.
But there’s a dark side – as there is with everything that creates fame – it attracts people like Spencer Pratt, who ruined Heidi Montag’s face, and her life. Now they are divorced, and he’s trying to write a tell-all book abut their time together, which will no doubt be littered with the same distinctiveness that marked the MTV series – about crazy people, boys, and partying.
I’m shocked, simply because I didn’t know Spencer Pratt was capable of stringing intelligible words together in cohesive sentences that revolve around a central theme. When the last book he probably read was a tattered copy of ‘What’s Happening To My Body For Boys’.
Montag is threatening suit.
