If there’s one element of the media that Chelsea Handler hasn’t invaded yet, I have no idea what it is. Other than Chatroulette. Which she’s obviously too good for.
Chelsea Handler. The queen bitch of the E! Network known now for her books, consistent angling for a Vodka endorsement and a late night talkshow that rivals most of the other networks in terms of funny. Depending on who you talk to. Some find her annoying and grating, other people think she’s the second coming for females in comedy. If I were Chelsea Handler, I’d make a play off of the word coming.
But one thing that she hasn’t done yet is host an awards show. And there’s no better awards show to host than one that has a dwindling viewer base and awards an ancient way of promoting music that isn’t really applicable in a YouTube, Vevo, Fuse sort of world – the VMA’s. Yes, the VMA’s. Where the most nominated acts include Drake – Canadian rich kid turned rapper, Lady Gaga – the only person actually taking time to make music videos, and a scattered amount of rap acts that may or may not vanish in a few years time.
This just supports my theory that teen culture has no idea where it’s going. It never does, really, but now it’s more out of sync than ever. Here’s hoping Chelsea will have the balls to make fun of them.
