Spectators at the Tafalla bullring in Spain got more than they bargained for when a bull tried to escape the arena and rampaged through the crowd.

Personally, I’m surprised that no other bull has tried this before. It can’t be a fun job to be surrounded by a crowd of people shouting, while being taunted by other humans in the ring. I’d want to quit too. It’s just too bad that the bull never found his way to the beer stand so he could grab a few cans before peacing out. I mean, WWSSD (What Would Steven Slater Do)?
As the bull trampled his way through the crowd, 40 people were injured. Nine were taken to a local hospital for treatment – one for a goring. At one point in the video a spectator tries to grab the bull’s tail, but the animal just continues to storm its way through the stands. (There’s a joke about failing to take the bull by the horns in there somewhere…)
The Gawker reports that the bull tried to escape during the “recortadores” where people try to get as close as they can to the animal without being gored. The bull was close to being removed from the ring for “under performing” when it leaped into the crowd.
After several minutes, the bull was subdued and killed.

I went to a bullfight many many years ago -- disgusting. Any time I see a news item on bullfighting I route for the bull. Good on ya, bull! Wish you had gored the matador.

Can't Spain just admit defeat? 99.999% of the time the Bull loses this fight. One finally escapes the jaws of death and leaps to freedom and they still kill him. Be a good sport, honor the bull as the one who got away, the one who bested the people, but no, the bull never wins. I say this bull is a hero, one who will go down as a martyr for bulls everywhere. This has to be the least sporting sport I ever witnessed. Bad humans.

Revenge of the Bull! Somehow I have a feeling a lot of people around the world were rooting for the bull when watching the video. Bullfighting is a primitive and barbaric sport that should be consigned to history. This is the 21st century, we should not be torturing animals for entertainment. Good for the bull he had the smarts to do that. Maybe some people will think twice before attending or staging a bullfight coz of that.
