Famed Beverly Hills Doctor Died Whilst Tweeting

By Mark Lorenz on August 18th, 2010

It’s a sad, sad thing when people die tragically. In easily preventable ways. It’s always a sad thing – but even sadder when occasionally the ways they die are tragically hilarious.

Recently, philanthropist and surgeon to the stars Dr. Frank Ryan died tragically when his car veered off of the Pacific Coast Highway, over a cliff, and that’s all she wrote. Immediately after his death, his clients, friends, and family issued messages expressing their grief, sadness, and regret – an outpouring for a man who gave so much back to people after fixing the faces of the already beautiful.

But little was known about how he died. And it was fitting for a cartoon – not the death of a brilliant surgeon. He was texting Twitter about his dog, Jill. A man veered off a cliff of the Pacific Coast Highway to update his Twitter account about his dog. Who was in the car with him, by the way – and managed to survive.

What kind of Looney Tunes horsehockey is this? Where a man veers off cliffs for the love of his dog, only after performing surgery and gaining a foothold in one of the richest communities in America?

I hope somebody AT LEAST retweeted him.

Some of the most brillant people on earth have made some of the simplest mistakes that have cost them their lives. This appears to be another example. Possibly he would not have died had he been wearing a safety helmet while in the car. Head injuries are the leading cause of death in car crashes and a light safety helmet could be the difference between life and death in many cases.
