A never-before-seen 56 second Star Wars clip was unveiled last weekend in the far-off Orlando, Florida galaxy.
Fans arriving for the Star Wars Celebration V – a four day festival celebrating that actual galaxy far, far away – are likely still reeling after witnessing a long lost video from their favorite movie franchise.
At the convention’s main panel event, ultimate Jedi supreme George Lucas screened the legendary opening of Return of the Jedi that found itself lying on the cutting room floor before the film was released.
The scene takes place on the planet Tatooine before C-3P0 and R2-D2 head to Jabba the Hutt’s palace. New Jedi Luke Skywalker is building his new light saber, while Darth Vader reaches out across the universe and urges his son to join the Dark Side.
Watch the clip below:
Not only will all six live-action Star Wars films be available on blu-ray next year, never before seen clips and other deleted scenes will be part of yet another new Star Wars box set.
