Meteor Shower Tonight (Perseids) August 12 2010 – Watch Online!

By AAyles on August 12th, 2010

Tonight’s Perseid meteor shower is expected to be another exciting event as up to 100 falling stars are set to descend over the course of 1 hour.

While residents in rural areas may be able to secure a decent view of tonight’s event, the best view will be featured online.

NASA will broadcast the 2010 August meteor shower live on its website with descriptions and information to help viewers.

Those of you who caught last year’s meteor shower (which featured over 200 meteorites in one hour) know just how exciting this type of event can be.

According to NASA, tonight’s meteor shower is expected to light up the skies on Thursday August 12 from 3-4 EDT.

To livechat with astronomer Bill Cooke from NASA’a Marshall Space Flight Center go to Nasa.gov. On this page, you will also see the live streaming video of the meteor shower!

Hope you enjoy!
