Tim Tebow Haircut

Yeah, it has been the chatter for a couple of days, but we need to offer some love here at Manolith.

Friar Tebow. That seems most appropriate, yeah? It’s almost as if the team veterans asked Tebow to grow out the beard because they had “something planned.”

Over the weekend, Tebow (as you can see to the right) was offered a little fun, rookie hazing via haircut–a visual play on his beliefs. While I’m not a fan of hazing such as “do my job for me” tasks, this is just goofy and relatively harmless–except to the eyes.

I’m sure Tebow gives props to the monks of yeter-millenia, but more than that, he just ate it, went with it, had fun with it and went on to play some stellar football in the stadium workout. This is why I love Tim Tebow.

Sure, Tim and I have a belief system that is rooted in the same foundation, and it’s easy for me to be a fan. The guy is completely comfortable with what he believes. Knock him, his beliefs or his football ability and he won’t argue with you, praise him and he defers–it’s easy to see why so many love him and so many loathe him.

I have enjoyed every ounce of rhetoric from arm chair quarterbacks who believe he won’t “translate” to the NFL as a QB. I don’t think these people really watched what he did in college. I don’t think they realize the type of athlete he is. This kid is a freakin’ gladiator; he’s a beast. He could play defensive end, but as he’s asked to–as he’s coached to, he’ll adapt.

Fortunately, for Tim and football fans that know he’ll attract the media spotlight, the “Friar-do” has been completely cropped.
