Eminem’s latest music video has been released. And it’s characteristically intense, featuring Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox.
And loads and loads of fire. Fire shooting out of Megan Fox, fire shooting out of the walls, fire consuming a house, and everyone’s favorite Hobbit, Merry. Eminem has had a great year, distancing himself from the music he made while under the influence of myriad pills and isolation and released Recovery – an album which has sold close to two million copies already. The music video was directed by Joseph Kahn whose directed videos by artists ranging from Muse to BoA.
Personally, it looks like an epic struggle between two struggles from various franchises. Like maybe Merry from Lord of the Rings decided to grow up, had too many pints and traveled through time to beat up on Mikaela. And as intense as the music video is, as crescendoey as the strings are — somewhere in the dark, there’s a man masturbating to Megan Fox being abused. Because that’s how human beings work.
The song is still in the top ten. But truly, this is the window-punchiest, beer-drinkiest, bag-leavingiest on the sidewalk, Hobbit tattooiest music video to debut in years.
