Dr. Dre Is Working On An Album Dedicated To The Planets

By Mark Lorenz on August 5th, 2010

*exhales* you know? The planets, dawg, the planets.

Dr. Dre is a man of many talents. Included is not loving ho’s, making you forget about him and talk like you’ve got something to say, and apparently astronomy.

Many famous musicians have an interest in astronomy, including Gustav Holst, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Brian May. Granted, Brian May is probably the only one who didn’t smoke psychedelics and stare at the sky long enough to become musically inspired – but Dre did. In a recent interview, he revealed that his latest ambition is to make an instrumental album inspired by the personalities of the planets. Which begs the question, “How much weed do you have to smoke…” before you start thinking the planets are personalities, and instrumental music to go along with them? Eschewing Gustav Holst?

Come on, Dre. Give us Detox. We’ve been waiting nearly a decade for a 12-song album. That comes out to almost a year dedicated to each song, and I doubt you need that much time to write a single song. It’s the hip-hop equivalent of Chinese Democracy, if Axl were much more than marginally talented and knew how to produce songs.

You crazy mother. Give us Detox. You’ve had enough time to go to detox 120 different times.
