Freakin’ A, It’s National Cheesecake Day

By James Sheldon on July 30th, 2010

All these National Days. Some are worthless, and then there are days like today, when they’re reason enough to take off work.

Today, July 30, 2010, is National Cheesecake Day. And what does that mean? It means you can score a half-price slice at any Cheesecake Factory across the U.S. Dine in only, of course.

Several restaurants across the country are apparently participating in some sort of celebration for National Cheesecake Day, but you’ll have to get on the horn and find out if your favorite greasy spoon or overpriced trendy joint will be offering the goods.

Personally, I’m tempted to hit up one of my local favorites that offer this amazing marble cheesecake brownie. I think if I work ‘em over hard enough, they’ll totally hook a fella up.

To push the legitimacy of the Cheesecake Factory claim, you can check out the push they’re offering through the website–and if you’re a fan on Facebook, there’s even more information.

Along those lines, I figure it’s appropriate to push my own agenda, being a cheesecake expert and all. For starters, cheesecake is so good for you–while being completely terrible for you. It’s a soul satisfier, a palate satisfier and an arterial challenger.

My three favorite cheesecakes:

3.) Cheesecake Factory (take your pick of flavors)

2.) Gale Gand’s Marble Cheesecake

1.) Carnegie Deli’s Cheesecake–the largest slab of the sweetness you could ever attempt to enjoy at a sitting. Carnegie Deli is located at 7th Ave and 55th St. in NYC.

International readers…? Please, do enjoy this day with us. This National Cheesecake Day.
