‘World War Z’ author Max Brooks has just confirmed to MTV that Brad Pitt is officially attached to star in the film adaptation of his novel!
According to MTV, “Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment first secured the right to ‘World War Z’ back in 2007 after a bidding war with Leonardo DiCaprio’s company, Appian Way.” Brad has been rumored as a potential lead for the film for a while, but Brooks only received the confirmation of his involvement while signing copies of the book at Comic-Con.
“I can’t believe how cool Paramount has been to me and these projects, and how cool Plan B has been,” Brooks said of the news. At the same time, he learned that Paramount has also optioned two more of his works, “The Zombie Survival Guide” and “The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks” graphic novel.
Recently the studio announced that ‘Quantum of Solace’ director, Marc Forster would be directing the ‘World War Z’ film.
World War Z chronicles the lives of the survivors of a ten-year zombie war. Currently the studio is eyeing a summer 2012 release date for the flick.
