Wow!
Manolith has your first look at Natalie Portman as a prima ballerina in “Black Swan” (pictured) and she looks stunning!
Natalie plays Nina, a technically brilliant ballerina chosen as the lead in a New York City production of “Swan Lake.” Pressures begin to mount as her overbearing mother (played by Barbara Hershey) pushes her to succeed and her manipulative dance master (Vincent Cassel) commands her to be more seductive in her performance.
But it’s not just about ballet (though I’m sure the dance scenes will score you big points with your girlfriends). It’s about the much anticipated relationship between Nina and new dancer, Lily!
The arrival of Lily (Mina Kinus) complicates Nina’s life further, as Lily exhibits the innate ease and sexuality as a dancer that Nina lacks. To say the least, the two forge an unusual relationship… aka, there’s a girl-on-girl love scene that’s generating a lot of buzz!
However, Mila explains, “Anything sexual in this film is not there for the sake of being sexual. I think people are hoping it’s like two girls making out and pillow fighting. It’s not smut.”
Sorry guys.
Black Swan has the honor of opening the Venice Film Festival in September, and will be released nation-wide later this fall.

Don't know about this one. I've long been a Portman fan, regardless of the fact that she laid eggs in the Star Wars prequels. That was clearly the fault of George Lucas. I know Portman has some dance training from kidhood, but I'm curious as to who her dance double is. Aronofsky has been really tight lipped about using names... Anyway, I'm game to see it. That Darren can make some great freakin' movies.
