Christopher Nolan and his brother are hard at work on the script to the third installment of the Batman reboot, which’ll surely gross a billion dollars.
And while they’re working on the script, there are going to be a myriad of casting rumors floated around by the blogosphere — ones which we here at Manolith will contribute to. Since The Dark Knight ruled the box office, and grossed close to a billion and a half dollars, a myriad of rumors for the next film have already been floated – Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, Betty White as Batgirl – all of which are probably unsubstantiated and true.
Here’s another one – “insiders” (read: fat people browsing the internet) have said that the next script will prominently feature The Riddler, allegations which Nolan has denied before in the past. But with Inception grossing a ridiculous amount of money in the last few weeks, despite being touted as a nearly unmarketable art film, he might go crazy and change his mind.
Anyway, the name being kicked around is Joseph Gordon-Levitt. As The Riddler. Which is a casting decision that everyone could get behind, being that he’s paid his dues in smaller films and worked his way up.
Also, JGL could cut you. And you’d love it.
