M. Night Shyamalan Is Irritated And Hilarious

By Mark Lorenz on July 20th, 2010

If there’s one thing that I love, it’s legions of people who have good taste. And legions of people who had good taste went and saw Inception this weekend.

What played before Inception? Trailers for a new movie from an idea from M. Night Symalamadingdong. Manny Shyamalan. He’s been in the news recently for possibly making the worst summer blockbuster in history – and being irritated when reporters present that fact to him. But if I ever wanted to forget the fact that I made the worst summer blockbuster in history, that’d really put a monkey wrench in my plans. In addition to making The Happening, The Village, and Lady in the Water – which are cinematic cures for insomnia. Also, for studios making money, which M. Night hasn’t been good at since The Sixth Sense.

But a new trailer for Manny’s film Devil has been playing before screenings of Inception across the country. Which has caused unintentional comedy with rowdy audience members booing Hollywood’s biggest one-trick pony since Keanu Reeves. The audiences groan and boo.

Enjoy the video.*

*well, you can’t, because the video has been removed, but enjoy M. Night being all condescending to a reporter and telling her to kill herself. In a roundabout way.

Get your facts straight before jumping on the Shyamalan-bashing bandwagon. All his movies made money so far expect Lady In The Water....

Unbreakable was better than The Sixth Sense? C'mon, Night. And Hasselhoff is huge in Germany.

M Night wasn't being condescending here. He was quite correct - the questioner was ignorant and dismissive, not to mention sad. And your hilarious adding of the suffix "ding-dong" to his name.. well it wasn't really that hilarious, Mr Lorenzer-bender.

The only "fact" I see is that "Shyamalan Bashing" has become a sport. Puts him in a line with David Lean (for "Ryan's Daughter"), Stanley Kubrick (for "2001"), Orson Welles (for nearly all his films) and other film auteurs whose "mediocrity" was consistently "proven" by high brow critics like you and audiences with "taste" like the above-mentioned.
