Lindsay Lohan Reports to Court for Jail Transfer

By James Sheldon on July 20th, 2010

Today was the day.

Miss Lohan–Lindsay Lohan actually showed up to court this morning to be put in cuffs and transfered to the Century Regional Detention Center. Yeah, she’s not even going to “real jail” because of severe overcrowding.

Lindsay showed up about 8 minutes late this morning, rolling as she rolls, in a black SUV–fans there to support her screamed out numerous “I love you’s!” but Lindsay remained somewhat solemn. I’m not sure that these fans know what “love” is, but if they mean they “love” what she looks like, the lifestyle she has chosen, etc., then sure, I’ll give it to them.

Judge Marsha Revel ensured that photogs kept their shutters silent as Lohan was put into cuffs and transferred into police custody.

Lohan was sentenced to 90 days for basically thinking that every aspect of her life is a movie. She didn’t take her court mandated probation seriously, didn’t show up to court when she was supposed to and now she’ll have to be like the rest of us. It’ll be interesting to see what relationships she strikes up in pokey. Personally, I hope she gets a genuine taste of reality, and maybe even bumps into a few people who actually do grow to love her.

I mean this sincerely. I don’t revel in the fact that this girl has some serious problems. As a parent, I look at her parents and I say to myself, “No wonder she is as she is…” It’s like she never had a chance. So it seems she played make believe in real life, and it translated well to the screen. Her mom is absurd, ridiculously entitled, and her father? We can all say it together: Estranged.

I wish her the best. I hate seeing anyone in such a circumstance. It’s something that I’ve never understood, why we all want a piece of the celebrity pie, and love rejoicing in the successes, but boy, we love to cast the first stone.
