Social Network Trailer: Watch!

The full trailer for The Social Network (aka The Facebook Movie) finally arrived today, after several previously released teaser trailers kept the internet buzzing.

The Social Network is based on Ben Mezrich’s 2009 book, ‘The Accidental Billionaire: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal.’  The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s co-creator and Justin Timberlake as Napster’s co-founder Sean Parker.  Andrew Garfield, best known as the new Peter Parker in the upcoming Spiderman film, plays Eduardo Saverin, a Facebook co-founder who now owns a 5% share of the company.

Social networking site, Facebook, officially launched in February 2004.  Initially only available to students at Harvard university, the site was expanded a month later to include Stanford, Columbia and Yale, according to Wikipedia.  The website continued to grow, including all Ivy League universities, and gradually most universities within Canada and the United States.  Currently anyone over 13 years of age with an email address can join the social network.  To date, Wikipedia lists the company’s estimated revenue at over $1,000,000,000.
