Kids Be All iDosing To Get High

By Mark Lorenz on July 15th, 2010

There are a myriad of ways to get high in life. As Chris Rock once said, you could get rid of all the illegal drugs in the world, and people would come up with new ways of getting high.

I used to think I knew every way of getting high. From standing outside the choir room with a pen hitter to taking far more cough medicine than was necessary, to mixing anti-psychotics with pain-killers. To inhaling household chemicals in a plastic bag, there are an infinite ways of getting high in your day-to-day. Anything you’ve used to clean your house you can use to inhale and see things with. Terrible things and wonderful things. And what’s the new way of getting high? Listening to music.

That’s right music. Just listening to music. Not even music – sound. We can’t even be bothered to put our highs to music. It’s called iDosing, and it involves wrapping your head up, putting on headphones and paying for MP3’s that’ll have the same sort of effect on you as drugs do.

Here’s a tip. MP3’s will never have the same effect as drugs have on you. Ever. They are made of sound. Drugs are made of chemicals. Those will always affect you more.

Except Eddie Money. I see shit when I listen to him. Things I can’t even explain.
