Ace of Base: The Return!

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to be stabbed by the Devil’s trident?

Your wait and wonderment is over.

Yeah, that there, down at the bottom is apparently the first single from Ace of Base’s new album, which will be released later this summer or early this fall. This first single will be released this weekend…according to Wikipedia–where else do you go for facts? Apparently the group had been debating whether to release “All For You,” or “Mr. Replay,” which you can hear below. At least we know there’ll be TWO releases.

If you haven’t given it a listen yet, let me prepare you for what you’ll hear:

It’s a bunch of people singing in English, and English isn’t their first language. The words rhyme, the beat is very Ace of Base-y and I think this song is actually the “other baby” that they were singing about in ‘94. I can’t say it possesses the power of the 90s cautionary tale, “All That She Wants,” but it certainly offers more hot-fireplace-poker-to-the-eye power than their most popular and watered down jam, “The Sign.” You all remember when they covered “The Sign” on Full House? Dang. Uncle Jesse was pissed!

Now I’m gonna have one foot in the 90s all day. Better pop in some Snow and licky boom boom down.
