Footlong Cheeseburger: Interested?

Carl Jr.'s Footlong CheeseburgerCarl Jr.’s Footlong Cheeseburger is the latest in grotesque fast-food mutations.  Essentially this burger takes three round patties and places them between a Hoagie-style bun – then they’re topped with the main hamburger-type condiments.

From the picture, it looks like we’ve got some cheese, onion, pickle, ketchup and presumably mustard going on there.  You can’t see the mustard, but as a crucial hamburger component, it definitely needs to be on there.  So for all intensive purposes, let’s just assume it is.

Now, some of you may be wondering how stuffing small hamburger patties into a sub sandwich makes a hamburger.  I say, this is not for us to determine – just enjoy.

Quite honestly, I’m surprised no one came up with this idea sooner.  It doesn’t gross me out like the KFC Double Down, which makes my arteries clog just looking at it.  There’s something about the cheese oozing out from between the deep fried chicken fillets that makes me uncomfortable.  But an extra large hamburger?  I feel that that’s something I could get behind.
